As Christmas nears, we’re getting ready to snuggle up for our favorite tradition— watching classic holiday movies with our family and friends. (In our cozy pajamas, of course.) Settle in with our five favorite movies (and pajamas to match), in no particular order. Push play and have a cozy holiday.
Classic Christmas Movie: Love Actually (2003)
Our pick for the most romantic Christmas movie follows the lives of eight couples around Christmastime. Who can forget that kiss between David (Hugh Grant) and Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) as the stage curtain rises at the Christmas play? (Swoon.) It’s the season to cuddle up with a friend.
Classic Christmas Movie: A Christmas Story (1983)
We love this movie because it reminds us of what it’s like to be a kid around the holidays. For Ralphie, it just isn’t Christmas without a Red Ryder BB Gun. His Mom warns, “You’ll shoot your eye out,” and we laugh every time. Watch it in our whimsical Cool Nights PJ sets with matching eye masks that capture the movie’s playful spirit.
Classic Christmas Movie: White Christmas (1954)
You can’t help but watch (and sing along with) this holiday-themed musical, starring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Vera Ellen, and Danny Kaye. With beautiful carols, gorgeous costumes and fancy footwork, it’s a Christmas classic we can watch again and again. Wear festive prints to really get into the sparkle of the season.
Classic Christmas Movie: It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
In our favorite movie with a message, George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) learns what life would be like without him. It’s a heartfelt reminder of the importance of friends and family, with the endearing sign-off “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.”
Classic Christmas Movie: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
The holiday season is a series of disasters for the Griswold family, like the tree that’s way too big and Christmas lights that trigger a blackout. It’s a reminder that the holidays don’t have to be perfect. And if things don’t go as planned, there are always cocktails.
So relax and enjoy your time with friends and family this holiday season. And let us know which movie is your favorite.
