How to Be Luminous With Less

New York makeup artist Talia Sparrow has helped define makeup trends on Fashion Week runways for designers including Marchesa and Jenny Packham. Her work can be seen in photo shoots for Interview, V Magazine and Marie Claire.

For our commercial for new Enticing Lift, Talia was happy to embrace her philosophy of less is more to create a fresh, natural look for model Hannah Ferguson. The bonus? It takes very little time to create or enhance the appearance of youthful skin.

“A drop of luminizer gives skin dewy freshness without makeup,” she says.

Here’s how to create Hannah Ferguson’s put together but natural look:

Step 1: Start with clean skin. Mix a drop of luminizer into your moisturizer and apply as usual. (Her favorite: Luminous Goddess Aura Beam)

Step 2: Touch up your skin with concealer where needed: under eyes, around the nose and on any blemishes.
Step 3: Use a bronzer under your cheekbone and above your brow for gentle contouring and to add warmth to the skin.
Step 4: With a brush, use luminizer as a highlighter anywhere light would hit your skin: at the top of the cheeks, under the eyes, on the forehead, along the top of your lips, on the bridge of your nose.
Step 5: Use shimmery neutrals instead of matte shadow on your eyelids. Line your eyes with powder eye shadow instead of liquid.
Step 6: Finish with a couple of coats of mascara.

Tips:

  1. How to find the perfect natural lip color? The pink ends of your fingers are the closest color to your lips.
  2. End of the day refresh: Tap a little luminizer on your eyelids. Add another coat of mascara.
