Summer’s great escape takes us to the scenic island town of Key Biscayne, just south of Miami. With white sand beaches and swaying palms, it was the perfect backdrop for our latest photo shoot. You can get a taste of island life too with our guide to the top 5 adventures in paradise.
1. Beach Picnic Under the Palms
Enjoy a meal al fresco at Crandon Park Beach while you soak up the sun and feel the sand in your toes. The beach is the highlight, but the park also has a nature center, antique carousel and splash park for kids.
2. Catch a Tennis Match
While you’re at Crandon Park, check out the Tennis Center. It seats close to 14,000 and hosts professional players each year during the Miami Open.
3. Tour a Historic Lighthouse
Take a guided tour of the Bill Baggs Lighthouse, built in 1825. It’s 109 steps to the top, but you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view of Biscayne Bay and Miami.
4. Go to the Miami Seaquarium
Looking for a photo op? You’re sure to find one at this 38-acre aquarium that’s home to manatees, dolphins and even above-ground friends, like these colorful parrots.
5. Take a Dip In Biscayne Bay
Windsurfers, paddle boarders and kayakers love Biscayne Bay for its calm waters. Prefer to stay dry? Charter a boat to take in some of the bay’s most beautiful sights.
